PostSubject: Commando setups: Baldvin's edition.   Wed Jan 05, 2011 12:34 pm

Now, commando is known to be a relatively easy profession to get used to, but it can also be tricky to make it's effection through the roof.

Commando can be considered overpowered, and is undeniable overpowered for a tank.

But take notes, a damage focused commando, talking from experience, is beyond all limits.

I'll show you exports from my character as mando from battlefields.

Name Faction Kills Assists Deaths Damage Healing Captures
Petra-Degeran Rebel 0 2 7 30780 390498 0
Kasp Rebel 0 3 8 304921 70534 0
Invictus Rebel 3 0 9 359023 98079 0
Gezzka Sufradjing Rebel 0 3 7 48022 351595 0
Nihm Edi Imperial 2 9 1 32559 402660 1
'Rexon Serx Imperial 11 18 1 427403 118246 0
Baldvin Aethyr Imperial 4 25 0 534431 66526 0
Osskscosco Zoli Imperial 14 14 1 362159 73278 0

Here he had more than 100k damage more than the second most damaging player, and even no deaths.

Name Faction Kills Assists Deaths Damage Healing Captures
Gatwick Sold Rebel 3 1 8 291327 126543 0
Omatchi Rebel 0 4 7 216472 61242 0
blash trenckt Rebel 1 3 9 123219 60155 0
Kashya Rebel 0 4 7 90648 284918 0
Baldvin Aethyr Imperial 9 22 1 554694 64174 0
Davran Drandt Imperial 12 15 0 234065 63810 0
Jatan Kainite Imperial 8 16 2 222151 101498 1
Esne Femak Imperial 2 20 1 88127 391010 0

Here, he had 260k more damage than the second highest damaging player.

And I have many exports that show the same stats, Damage mando is overpowered, a beast, a deadly tool.

For a balanced mando, which I used without devastation mods, I'd suggest:

Juggernaut heroic set.

Constitution
Strength
Precision.

Exotics:
Heavy weapon damage
Heavy weapon critical chance
Block chance/healing potency.

Pups: Heavy weapon damage x2, healing potency x1.

Tank mando (Useless damage, useless in PvP compared to damage, plain hilarious to me atleast)

Frontman heroic set.

Constitution
Strength
Block value

Exotics:
Block chance
Critical hit reduciton
Healing potency.

Pups: 1x CHR, 1x Block chance, 1x Healing potency. Can also try 3x Block chance, ofc.

BLOCK setup generic mando looks quite like this:

Precision
Strength
Block value (block in all stats, bit of offense)

Exotics:
Block chance
Critical hit reduction
Healing potency

Pups: 3x Block chance.

The Deadly, superior, devastation mando setup is a bit expensive because of the devastation mods, they require 1x Excavation toolchest and 1x Disabled homing beacon. Toolchest is from EK and Beacon is from TK. Mod bit of those is usually worth between 15-30 mill CPU.

Setup would be, pure offense ofc because theres alot, too much defense in expertise already.

Juggernaut heroic set.

Luck (strikethrough, crit, evasion)
Precision (crit, block)
Strength (Block, hit chance)

Exotics:
Devastation
Heavy weapon damage
Heavy weapon critical chance

Powerups:
Heavy weapon damage x3.

Food: I'd suggest Breath of heaven or Deneelian fizz pudding, BoH gives constitution and dodge while fizz pudding gives luck + block.

PS: STACKING GLANCING BLOW AS COMMANDO IS WORTHLESS. DEVASTATION CANNOT BE USED IN POWERUPS.

Well afaik BLOCK negates GB, and if youre stacking Block Chance high - you probably do better with something else then GB, since you will block alot which means you will rarely glance.

Well if you got the oppertunity to try out Juggernaut with the proposed setup by Bald here, do it. They really are crazy in dmg ^^

Just so you know, I used the con/stre/pre setup above and juggernaut set and still had such ridicilous damage, so imagine with devastation..
