PostSubject: Macros   Sun Aug 24, 2008 4:12 pm

Hello Folks

As requested ive written a little guide to macros in swg, hope you will understand the concept through this and can make your own macros with this knowledge.

First go to:
Options – commands – macro
New Macro
Chose a name
Chose an Icon

Then its time for the macro text, below is how a simple emote macro could look.
Macro Text:
/greet;
/pause 2;
/say Welcome to VoB Mall, and thank you for shopping!
/pause 180;
/macro AFK

This Macro would make you “greet passers by” wait 2seconds and then say the sentence, then wait 180sec and then repeat the process over and over.
That’s fairly easy right? You can add in any emotes, texts or regular commands you know into the macro.

Now, what about combat macros? Ill try to explain a little here.
First of all, make 1 macro which looks like below:

AFK
/afk;
/pause 180;
/macro AFK;

This will keep you from logging out to character selection (I think).

Now, there is no way to make your regular “action” button loop on macros (not as far as I know anyway) so you will only be able to use your specials in AFK-combat, and here’s how:

There is a command for activating you toolbar slots. That command looks like this:

/ui action toolbarSlot00

Slot00 is the first slot on your toolbar (You number 1 key) and then it counts upwards. So your number 2 key, is Slot01 etc.

So I wanna do a macro for killing nightsisters. First of all, make a macro for your personal buffs etc, like Favor of the elders, Musty injector, Jedi stance etc – so you don’t have to activate them every 15min.

Then you start adding your “specials” to your combat macro. For me it looks like this:
(This is not a very optimal macro, but it works so I haven’t been bothered to change it)

Name: afker

/ui action toolbarSlot01;
/pause 1;
/ui action toolbarSlot05;
/pause 1;
/ui action toolbarSlot02;
/pause 1;
/ui action toolbarSlot04;
/pause 1;
/ui action toolbarSlot03;
/pause 1;
/ui action toolbarSlot00;
/pause 0,5;
/ui action toolbarSlot07;
/macro afker

Then I stand in front of the static spawn ive located (Static spawn = the nightsister spawns at the exact location every time, not randomly) and aim my cursor at her.
When I activate my macro it fires off my specials 1 at a time with 1sec intervals. And my heal is of course included among them as well as saberblock. (You need to set your heal to a time when you think it suits your toon, mine is the last of the specials)
When all my specials has fired, the macro starts over and repeats the attacks.

I know this can seem messy and hard, but it really isn’t once you get a hang of it. Just remember to try it out ATK first lol and make sure you don’t forget to add the ; because those are needed to tell the system to add another command after the executed one.

Well good luck with this. You will need to customize your own macro to something that suits your toon and your proff, there are also lots of help to get from the official forums regarding this but if you have any questions, post them here and ill try to anser them.

Forgot to mention that a Loot macro is probably a good idea too if ure gonna do any AFK combat ^^

Name: loot

/loot corpse;
/pause 1;
/loot;
/macro loot

or something like that =)

Might also add that this is completly legal according to SOEs "New" policy regarding AFK combat.

As long as you dont use any kind of third party clients or programs to execute your in game actions, it is 100% legal.
The only exception is: You cant AFK-grind on NPCs or Mobs that are required for quests and such, and thereby preventing ATK-players to finish their stuff.

A macro for not being logged off:

Nologg

/drool self;
/pause 600;
/macro nologg;

and: how to stop a macro.....: type /dump

I have a few more, but that is 6 seperate macros and a droid, for running around killing all npcs in one area. Makes me dizzy, hehe.

Just FYI there's a tab in your options that auto loots I think it's under "interactions"

Id say thats superstition. There is no valid reason why drops would change either way, just because of "Auto loot".

But.

The auto-loot option included in game is shit tbh. U need to be within like 10m from the corpse to be able to loot, while a macro stretches much further away.
